Allison Brown works with children, teens, adults, and families with a focus on developing emotional and behavioral regulation. Allison earned her master’s degree in professional counseling from Liberty University and is a National Certified Counselor as well as a Registered Play Therapist. When working with children and their families, Allison utilizes play to help to allow children to communicate, express themselves, and develop self-regulation. She specializes in working with ADHD, autism, impulse control disorders, sensory processing disorders, worry/anxiety, abuse and trauma, and attachment issues. A focus is placed on family therapy to provide parents with the tools to help their child outside of the therapy setting.
Allison also enjoys working with teens, young adults, and adults experiencing stress, worry/anxiety, emotional regulation issues, ADHD, trauma, and life transitions. A focus is placed on the individual's strengths and goals, helping them with a future focus. Having trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Allison utilizes these tools as appropriate throughout therapy. Allison also helps with skills for ADHD and executive functioning challenges that can include emotional regulation challenges.
