Parental support provides practical strategies and emotional support for parents dealing with challenging behaviors, developmental concerns, or everyday parenting stress. Our providers teach evidence-based parenting techniques, help you understand your child's behavior, and develop consistent, effective responses. Sessions focus on strengthening the parent-child relationship, improving communication, and building your confidence as a parent.

What to Expect During Parental Coaching Therapy Sessions

Parental coaching therapy is designed to support parents in understanding their child's needs and developing effective strategies to manage behavioral, emotional, and developmental challenges. Sessions are collaborative, practical, and focused on real-life situations.

Initial Sessions

In the beginning, your therapist will:

• Learn about your child's strengths, challenges, and daily routines

• Discuss current concerns at home or school

• Identify goals for parenting support

• Review any diagnoses, school plans (EIP, IEP, or 504), or previous evaluations

Ongoing Coaching Sessions

Each session typically includes:

• Guidance on managing challenging behaviors

• Tools for improving communication and connection with your child

• Strategies to support emotional regulation and coping skills

• Help with setting consistent boundaries and expectations

• Problem-solving around specific situations (bedtime, homework, transitions, etc.)

Sessions are tailored to your family's values and parenting style.

Skill-Building & Practice

Parental coaching is active and skill-based. You may:

• Learn practical techniques you can use right away

• Practice new strategies during sessions

• Receive feedback and adjustments based on what works best for your family
